Welcome to Light and Hue - Luminous Treasure

Hello! I'm J. Alissa Pearce, the creative mind behind Light and Hue. I am a life-long teacher-artist in the North Texas area. I absolutely love turning my hands, eyes and heart to creating treasures for other people. 

I experience color like other people might experience a really luscious milkshake. I drink it in and it fills all those spaces in me needing a little boost. Color is medicine, it's nourishment, it's pure joy and carefree play. It's a way I show and share love with the world. 

My Story

As a young tomboy on the East Coast, I spent hours observing the natural world-  soaking up the beauty in dappled tree bark, spotted salamanders and springtime azaleas. Subtle and exuberant plays of color and light yield inspiration for my work. 

Experimentation with mixed media techniques and fair amount of personal drive has led me to this current passion: producing the inimitable adornments you see on this site. 

My Work

I specialize in finding and creating pieces that capture and reflect light in extraordinary ways. From Bliss Bracelets to Double-Sided Moondrops, I showcase joyful marriages of form, function, light and hue.
